The Real Estate Broads of New York

Dec 30, 2021

Imagine this…you’re in your apartment and about to take a long-awaited nap when suddenly you hear a piano playing…badly. Or imagine hearing a loud bang every few minutes and it feels like your ceiling is going to cave in. You also might’ve experienced very thin walls that are a bit too thin at times…Today we are talking about noise and NYC and why almost everyone we know wants a quiet apartment in the middle of this crazy place and what you should think about when your search parameters insist on a quiet abode.

Fear of the unknown is experienced by most but when purchasing a home, fear of unknown noise can become a major focus. Noise is subjective and it is hard for any broker to illustrate the noise level of an apartment but there are ways to mitigate some of your concerns. From City Quiet windows to soundproofing to good old carpet.
